Live From Lebanon

Abu-Bakar Mohamad

My name is Bakar and a few years ago I took a trip to Lebanon when I was trying to figure out what to do in life. I took it back to my identity- I’m a Lebanese man, raised in Australia. I’m now living in Beirut, Lebanon as a video journalist to contribute to my country and the people.

Everyone tells me to pack my bags and leave the country. But I came here for a reason… I came here to be immersed in Lebanon, to know Lebanon, and ultimately, to help Lebanon. I can’t help but feel guilty about picking up and leaving the country due to a possible escalation.

I don’t know what I will do. I guess that’s part of the struggle.
