From Bosnia to Croatia: Adventures and Mountains
by Amir Ammoun

How yummy are aussie snaggers?! But have you tried Čevapi? This was a dish out of the world, the way it’s served is so different and unique. Starting my journey in Bosnia, I started by hiking a beautiful mountain. This mountain (to locals) was just a normal one next to the city, but it is taller than the tallest mountain where I’m from in Western Australia: Mt Bluff Knoll. This is one of many reasons why travelling has it perks- you’re forced into removing yourself from your comfort zone and recognise the beauty in difference! Hiking this mountain for me was truly a beautiful experience; immersing myself into a different environment and seeing the beauty of the animals that roamed different parts was one of my most exciting moments! I saw a bear completely in the wild- what a beautiful, exotic creature! It really changes your views on nature. One of the greatest things about travelling is the people you meet, yes, you must always be wary! But that’s everywhere. I met some people so beautiful on the outside and inside that it made me feel like the whole reason of life is to travel and meet new people! For example, on my way travelling through from Bosnia to Croatia, I met a random solo travelling man from Germany who spoke amazing English and he showed me some of his favourite spots while we were in Croatia. We were drinking with the locals and in the village and they showed us their favourite spot. It was a beautiful river where we went for a fish and I caught a weird-looking orange fish that I never knew existed! This place had beautiful wildlife. How lucky to be showed someone else’s life and get to live it temporarily; something I will retain in my memory forever. Travelling is something so amazing that you must try it. The craziest part about travelling is how well English language is actually spoken over most of Europe. There’s no barrier and it’s never weird! I think they actually better spoke better English than me.

Experiencing this trip was so good that I’m planning my next trip back as soon as possible!
